How to merge PDF files into one document
Whether you're combining scanned pages, assembling a report, or bundling invoices, merging PDFs is a ten-second job with the right tool — and you don't need Adobe Acrobat or any installed software to do it.
The quick way: merge online
1. Open the free Merge PDF tool below.
2. Upload your PDF files — up to 50 at once. You can drag them straight from a folder.
3. Drag the files into the order you want them to appear in the final document.
4. Click Process, then download your single combined PDF.
The pages are copied exactly as they are, so nothing is recompressed and no quality is lost.
Getting the order right
The merged PDF follows the order of your file list, top to bottom. If your files are named 1.pdf, 2.pdf, 10.pdf, watch out: alphabetical order puts 10 before 2. Drag the files into place before merging — the list order is what counts, not the filenames.
What if the merged file is too big?
Merging doesn't compress anything, so ten big scans make one very big PDF. If the result is too large to email, run it through a PDF compressor afterwards — balanced compression typically halves scanned documents without visible quality loss.
Merging only some pages
If you only need certain pages from a document, extract those pages into their own PDF first, then merge the extracts. That keeps cover sheets, blank pages, and irrelevant sections out of the final file.
